RFID Locking System The redesign of the central library is based on the City of Essen's library development concept, which recognizes that modern libraries, beyond their core mission, significantly contribute to the revitalization of city centers by acting as drivers of urban development when centrally located. Libraries are currently undergoing a dynamic transformation of their traditional profile. In addition to offering a wide range of media, libraries are increasingly becoming accessible meeting places and event venues, as well as so-called "third places." The project task is the redesign of the City of Essen's central library, specifically the interior design and furnishings. Through this Europe-wide open tender process, the City of Essen intends to award Lot 2 for furnishings, including an RFID locking system.
